It's been a hot minute since I've been on here so I figured I'd give a quick life update. These last few months have sucked for many different reasons, of which only a few I'll mention on here. Early in the year my employer gave me the whole "return to office or get paid in pesos" spiel which put my life on hold. Because of such, I've been back in the US these last few weeks and in the meantime, all of my mezcal, language and cultural learnings, dreams and stories have been paused. Additionally, an amazing person who was a friend, a former boss and a life mentor to me passed away in a manner that quite frankly shook my perspective of life. And lastly, my wife is unable to be with me given that her visa appointment isn't until June (which we've been waiting for since January 2020). Did I mention that these were just a few reasons why these last few months have sucked? This isn't a pity post by any means; I'm already learning and adapting to life's weird ways and it's all okay. As the popular saying goes, "when life gives you lemons, sell them to buy wine". Well, at least that's how I think it goes.P.S. If you haven't heard from me in a while, it's not intentional. I promise to catch up on communications, especially with my double and triple back-to-back text messages exclaiming about my daily inconveniences.

Main photo is a throwback from my much-needed trip to visit Zinacantan Mezcal in San Diego La Mesa Tochimiltzingo, Puebla, Mexico.
